It's easy to create a unique background using a die cut as a template, your blending brushes and a few inks.
I cut out the Banner Blooms Dies with Basic White Cardstock and laid it on top of a piece of Basic White Cardstock. I chose four colors of ink to color the flowers. stems and background of this bouquet of flowers.
The trick to using the Blending Brushes is to ink up the brush, tap it off, onto a acrylic block and then swirl the brush over the cardstock. You can start with gentle pressure and increase it to darken the look. If it isn't dark enough yet, got through the same process until you have the look you desire. Continue doing this until you have the whole piece of cardstock colored.
I die cut another piece of the bouquet, in a contrasting color, just for the saying. Add a couple dimensionals to the back of this to pop it up, layer the colored design onto a mat and then onto the card base and you are done!
BUT WAIT...THERE'S MORE!
Use the piece of the bouquet that you just colored over to go onto another card...
This was easy to just add a couple of mats under the colored die cut and glue to a card base. Basically the time it took you to make one card, you have two complete!
I really love the stamp set that goes with this die, it has multiple greetings that I use for the majority of my cards.
If you like this look and would like to try the technique for yourself, my supplies are listed below.
