Pretty Poppies

Every once in a while, I just HAVE to create a card that is a bit more detailed and takes a bit more time to create.  But, when it is done, I am so satisfied with my creation I can't wait to send it off to someone special!

This card, created with the Poppy Moments dies is elegant all on its own without using the stamp set that coordinates with it.  I found that using our Adhesive Sheets is really the easiest way to adhere the white outline layer of the flowers.
All you need to do is add an Adhesive Sheet to one side of the White Cardstock.  Keep the adhesive side DOWN on the cutting surface, add the die on top of the cardstock, run it through the machine, peel off the adhesive backing and adhere onto the top of the die cut poppy.

I did use a liquid glue for the leaves and other flowers because there is enough surface to work with.
I actually created both of these cards at the same time because I used 'leftover' pieces on each of them.
The picture above shows a white stitched rectangle sitting on top of an Old Olive Brick and Mortar embossed layer on top of a white card base.
The card below, I used the outside frame left over from the stitched rectangle on the card above to create a window.  I've added dimensionals around the edge of the window to pop it out.  Same flower techniques just different layers for a different look.

Not sure if anyone else does this, but I can never make just ONE card at a time.  I am usually making 2 to 4 cards at once.  I figure if I am already playing with a design or papers, I might as well create a couple, so I don't have as many scraps to put back into my stash.

How many cards to you create at a time when you are stamping?  Do you send them all out or do you keep one as a base for other ideas the next time you stamp?

Dandelion Window

These three dimensional dandelions are so darn cute showing through the stitched window!  I added some color to the dandelion flowers with the blending brushes as well as to the background paper.  It really didn't take as much time as it might look like it did.  There are a lot of dies that come with this set so making the dandelions doesn't take long at all.

Directions: Die cut two dandelions, and one 'empty' dandelion out of white cardstock
Color the dandelion top layers with Daffodil Delight stamp pad using the Blending Brushes.
Color their stems with Garden Green stamp pad using the Blending Brushes.
Glue layers of dandelions together
Using the largest stitched rectangle die, cut out one in Balmy Blue another in Basic White.
On the blue layer, cut out a 'window' using the third smaller size rectangle.
Add Blue and Green ink 'shading' to the large White rectangle, using the Blending Brushes
Adhere down the dandelions so they fit inside the window area.  Add a dimensional behind the white 'empty' dandelion because this will lay above the window piece.
Add dimensionals all around the top side of the white rectangle you've glued the dandelions onto.  Stick the blue window piece to the dimensionals.  Glue this blended layered window piece onto the card base.
Die Cut a small rectangle for the greeting in a scrap of Basic White cardstock.  Glue to the bottom edge of the window.  Add a bow tied ribbon about the saying.

The supplies I used are listed below.  You can click on any of the items to get an order started in my stamp store.  If you choose to buy the stamp set with the dies as a bundle, this will qualify your order to earn a free Sale-A-Bration item!  Don't loose out on this great deal going through the end of February!

Spruce Pines

We've already had some snow fall and stay on the ground here in Minnesota, so I am in the mood for some winter cards!  This quick and easy design uses one stamp, three dies and one embossing folder!
Cut a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and run that through the Evergreen Forest Embossing folder.  Cut out two trees from the Pine Woods dies, also in the Shaded Spruce cardstock.  Cut the ground of snow, also from the Pine Woods dies and layer all of these onto the embossed piece.

I've stamped the saying on Whisper White cardstock, cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles dies and layered that on top of a piece of Heartwarming Hugs DSP.  Finishing off the look with a scattering of snowflakes from Shimmery Crystal Effects!  The top layer was raised using dimensionals.

If you are ready to get started on your Christmas cards, check out some of my other ideas and get an order ready!  I will be adding new designs all this week!  Make sure to stop by again!
